Canadian industrial hemp fibres are separated, cleaned, and needle punched to produce a 100% biodegradable growing medium. Fibres are separated through a decortication process without the use of chemicals. The scrim backing consists of 100% recycled material with a minimum 40% being post consumer content.
The hemp mat is ideal for sprouts, micro-greens, wheatgrass, barley grass and other short rotation crops. Matting is made to fit 10” x 20” trays or can be purchases in a roll 4 feet by 50 feet long. Custom orders are available upon request. Needle punching creates a light texture for roots to easily grow through. Hemp fibres have high water retention, keeping seeds wet through germination. All of the hemp used is grown, processed, and manufactured in Canada.
